Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, designing and delivering innovative surface water management and sustainable drainage solutions.

You will lead and support the design of Su DS interventions/solutions for residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. This includes being involved in all design stages, such as feasibility studies, outline designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports, technical specifications and drainage impact assessments.

Additionally, you will undertake hydraulic modelling, runoff calculations and attenuation/storage design to meet current standards and provide technical expertise for interdisciplinary analytical studies.

Your expertise will also be required to prepare contract documents for the construction phase of Su DS interventions/solutions.

You will liaise with clients, local authorities, planning officers and regulators to secure approvals for Su DS schemes.

Furthermore, you will support site teams with the implementation of designed solutions and provide technical input during construction.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will promote innovation and sustainable practices within drainage, wastewater and water infrastructure.

You will contribute to design reviews, ensuring compliance with CIRIA Su DS Manual and local guidance and legislation.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.

They will also have proven experience in the design and delivery of sustainable drainage or nature-based solutions at Senior Engineer level.

A Chartered/Incorporated or working towards this with a relevant institution is highly desirable.

Proficiency in drainage design software, such as Civil 3D, is essential.

Experience of undertaking engineering assessments, options appraisals, engineering calculations and/or economic appraisals is also required.

Experience in mentoring and training junior staff is beneficial.
