Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Social Care Worker to join our team. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will work with vulnerable young people in need of support. The position is based in Dublin West (Lucan) and Dublin North (Portrane), where we have an opportunity for expansion in our special care services.

About the Role:

This vacancy exists in our special care units for children in care aged between 11 and 17 years. Your primary focus will be on providing short-term, stabilising intervention that prioritises safe care in a secure, therapeutic environment. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to promote the physical, emotional, social, and educational welfare of each young person.

You will participate in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans, promoting the rights of each young person within the centre. Successful candidates must have a strong understanding of therapeutic interventions and experience working in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans;
  • Promote the physical, emotional, social, and educational welfare of each young person;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide safe and supportive care;
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans;

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant field;
  • A minimum 6 months' experience working in the social care sector (placement experience considered);
  • Ideal experience working with young people or in residential settings;
  • Experience working in challenging environments and an understanding of therapeutic interventions.
