Main Contractor Estimating Professional

We are seeking an experienced estimator to lead our tender preparation and cost estimate processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective tender strategies from initial client contact through to final submission.
- Interpret project specifications, drawings, and documentation to produce accurate and reliable cost estimates.
- Manage the compilation of subcontractor and supplier information packages.
- Communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Evaluate tenders for commercial viability, competitiveness, and alignment with company strategy.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide innovative value engineering solutions.
- Participate in post-tender negotiations and handovers to project delivery teams.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, supply chains, and construction methodologies.
- Support and mentor junior estimating staff to enhance team performance.
- Qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of estimating experience with a main contractor, preferably within the Irish construction sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and detailed knowledge of construction costs and processes.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Cubit, Buildsoft).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic pre-construction team.
- Full driving license and own transport preferred.
