Lead Estimator Opportunity

This is a fantastic chance for a seasoned construction professional to take on a leadership role in developing and submitting accurate and competitive tenders across various building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the preparation of tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
  • Interpret project documents to prepare precise cost estimates.
  • Coordinate the compilation of subcontractor and supplier packages.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure tenders are commercially viable, competitive, and aligned with company strategy.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide value engineering solutions.
  • Participate in post-tender negotiations and handovers to project delivery teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market prices, supply chains, and construction methods.
  • Mentor and support junior estimating staff.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of estimating experience with a main contractor, preferably in the Irish construction sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen and detailed knowledge of construction processes and costs.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Cubit, Buildsoft, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic pre-construction team.
  • Full driving licence and own transport preferred.
