Housekeeping Supervisor Role Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week, with varied hours to meet home needs and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities:
  • Assign tasks to team members and inspect their work to ensure it meets high standards of cleanliness.
  • Investigate any complaints regarding housekeeping services or equipment and take corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate work activities among departments to ensure smooth operation.
  • Provide training to team members on policies, procedures, and equipment use and maintenance.
  • Manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance service and efficiency.
  • Perform cleaning duties in emergency situations or when staff is short.
  • Conduct regular building inspections to identify areas that need repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss company policies and resident feedback.
  • Issue supplies and equipment to the housekeeping team.
  • Establish and maintain high standards and procedures for the work of housekeeping staff.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team by demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Monitor and control costs to ensure efficient operation.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in housekeeping supervision or a similar leadership role within a care setting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage workload and resources effectively.
