Job Opportunity: Policy Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our policy team and drive the development of policies that support the growth and development of the wind energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of policies to promote wind energy and other enabling technologies in Ireland and at European level.
  • Monitor policy developments relating to consenting renewable energy and grid, and identify key opportunities, risks, and issues for reporting to senior leadership.
  • Take a lead role in initiating, building, and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders in Government departments and State bodies.
  • Collaborate with other Policy and Research team members and industry experts through the coordination of committee meetings, working groups, and policy forums.
  • Develop and maintain a robust and effective planning policy framework for the development of on and offshore wind energy.
Requirements:
  • Licenced legal, planning, environmental, or energy-related third-level qualification.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience working in a policy or research role, preferably in the wind energy sector.
  • Knowledge of Irish planning and environmental policy, particularly in relation to the energy and electricity sectors.
  • Experience in an advocacy environment, with a clear understanding of Irish and European current affairs and political systems.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, succinct reports and presentations.
