
Conference and Event Operations Manager

Job Title
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Conference & Banqueting Manager to join our team.
About the Role
As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the conference and banqueting facilities on site, ensuring seamless execution of events and exceeding client expectations. Your role will involve collaborating with sales teams to understand event requirements and preferences, planning and coordinating all aspects of conferences, banquets, and events, and acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout the execution phases.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the conference and banqueting facilities to optimize availability and maximize the client experience through effective planning and smooth delivery of services.
Collaborate with sales teams to understand event requirements and preferences.
Plan and coordinate all aspects of conferences, banquets, and events, including meeting space, catering, audio-visual equipment, and decor.
Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the execution phases of events.
Ensure that all queries/requests are handled in a professional and proactive manner to deliver a faultless client experience.
Oversight and management of banquet and event staff.
Development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for every aspect of the C&B department.
Maximizing revenue and profitability from all market segments.
Effective management and coordination of conference/event enquiries, databases, reports, and site inspections.
Ensuring all client charges are correctly posted and accounted.
Maintenance of high standards of cleanliness throughout the department.
Management of wage cost and staffing of the department in line with targets/budgets set out by senior management.
Creative analysis of the wedding market to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Engagement with new wedding additions and initiatives from the hotel.
Striving to continually improve the products and services offered by the C&B department.
Closely working with sales teams to push wedding and event sales and maximizing revenues from same.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with:
A proven track record in conferences, banqueting, and events.
Results-driven approach with ability to work independently and in a team.
Previous supervisor experience in C&B/F&B is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to think creatively.
Familiarity with standard operating procedures and quality control measures.
Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
