Transforming the Power System

Our purpose is to enable society to reduce carbon emissions and meet climate change ambitions by operating Ireland's electricity grid with world-leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute core activities as the Transmission System Operator (TSO) for Ireland.
  • Develop, test, and incorporate operational systems, tools, and standards required to operate the power system and integrate new technologies.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to manage planned and unplanned outages, voltage control, generator testing, scheduling, and dispatch.
  • Respond to alarms and constraints to ensure the grid remains within operational security standards.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in power system operations.
  • Collaborative skills with customers and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong delivery track record.
  • Ability to develop innovative proposals and solutions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills for technical concepts.
  • Flexible working approach and ability to prioritise demands.
  • Comfortable with large data sets and analytical skills.
