We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Kitchen Support Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing essential support to the kitchen team, ensuring that all food preparation areas are clean and well-maintained.
You will work closely with the kitchen staff to prepare and transport food items, cleaning materials, and laundry, as well as operate necessary sterilizing equipment and dispose of rubbish as required.
This is a dynamic role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Transportation: Assist with preparing and transporting food items, cleaning materials, and laundry in the kitchen.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean kitchen floors, walls, waste bins, hot plates, kitchen equipment, canopies, delivery areas, storerooms, walk-in fridges, and all other areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate necessary sterilizing equipment and heavy equipment as required.
- Inventory Control: Check stock against delivery orders and store items correctly to minimize waste and loss.
- Equipment Handling: Handle equipment carefully to avoid breakage and assist with weekly and monthly stock-takes.
- Compliance: Understand and comply with health and safety standards, including COSHH and HACCP.
- Hazard Reporting: Store food items and chemicals correctly and report any hazards to the Head Chef or General Manager.
- Professional Image: Maintain a professional and friendly image with clients and customers.
- Teamwork: Work effectively with colleagues to provide excellent customer service and assist with the service of food.
