Lead Kitchen Assistant

The West County Hotel is seeking an experienced Lead Kitchen Assistant to join its culinary team. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work flexible hours, have a strong work ethic and customer focus, and be interested in food production and menu planning.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to take on a key role within our kitchen team. As Lead Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef with the overall running of the hotel kitchen, working closely with other department managers to ensure high-quality food production, and contributing to menu planning and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and timely delivery of meals.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods to provide excellent service to guests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards and protocols.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP procedures and regulations.
  • Certification in food safety and handling is an asset.
