Job Title:

Senior Staff Process Optimisation Engineer

About the Role:

The Senior Staff Process Optimisation Engineer will provide technical leadership in the facility across various disciplines. This role requires a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization.

Responsibilities:
  1. Management of multiple significant Engineering projects through Project Management Office (PMO).
  2. Provide Technical leadership from an engineering perspective.
  3. Continuously improve the performance of the process.
  4. Engage in the implementation of lean manufacture within manufacturing.
  5. Interface with Materials Science, Design, and Quality Assurance departments to provide customers with quality products in a timely manner.
  6. Drive process troubleshooting with support team members and external agents.
  7. Structured problem-solving ability.
  8. Provide development and guidance for assigned Co-op/Technician, Operators, and Engineers.
  9. Lead the following: Analyse issues that arise, identify root causes of failures, and ensure timely resolution.
  10. Lead FMEA's, review, and support the development of FDS, SDS, equipment manuals, etc.
  11. Drive the validation of systems, along with other engineers.
  12. Define and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to ensure the process is robust.
  13. Own the requirements and design reviews to provide input from a testability perspective.
Requirements:
  • A Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business-critical projects.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with both internal and external agents.
  • Capable of providing technical leadership and influencing and providing technical direction to Engineers, Co-op Students, Technicians, and Operators as required.
  • Demonstrable strong analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent presentation and written / verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to work autonomously.
  • A team player, with a flexible approach.
  • Technological expert, willing to source, investigate, and implement technological advances.
  • Confident and effective decision maker, with a proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
