Job Title: Assistant Kitchen Team Member

The kitchen assistant will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and food preparation areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans, and dishes to maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Maintaining the kitchen's organization and tidiness, including floors, surfaces, fridges, and storage areas.
  • Properly disposing of waste and recycling materials.
  • Receiving and storing deliveries safely and efficiently.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation under supervision, such as peeling and chopping ingredients.
  • FOLLOWING ALL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES AND FOOD HYGIENE GUIDELINES TO ENSURE A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT.
  • Ensuring that cleaning schedules are adhered to and completed on time.
  • Reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.

This may involve working in other areas within the lodge as needed, such as housekeeping, general maintenance, or assisting guests, depending on operational requirements.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Good physical stamina, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others.

Desirable qualifications include previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality role, and basic food hygiene certification (training may be provided).
