Job Title: Kitchen Porter Location: Leitrim , Carrick on Shannon Reports to: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager Job Type: Full Time Salary: €13.50 to €15.00 P/H Job Purpose To maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and food preparation areas, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by supporting chefs and kitchen staff with essential tasks. Key Responsibilities Wash and clean all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans, and dishes. Keep the kitchen clean and tidy, including floors, surfaces, fridges, and storage areas. Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately. Unload and store deliveries correctly and safely. Assist with basic food preparation under supervision, such as peeling and chopping. Follow all health and safety and food hygiene procedures. Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and completed. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor. May be required to help in other areas within the lodge as needed, such as housekeeping, general maintenance, or assisting guests, depending on operational demands. Requirements Essential: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, punctual, and hardworking. Strong attention to detail. Good physical stamina (lifting, standing for long periods, etc.). Team player with a positive attitude. Desirable: Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality role. Basic food hygiene certification (training may be provided). Working Conditions Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physically demanding role involving standing, bending, lifting, and carrying. Working in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
