Newborn Hearing Screener Specialist
About the Role:This critical position is integral to our team, responsible for newborn hearing screening in the first few days of life.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and provide a family-friendly yet professional experience for both mother and baby during the screening process.
Main Responsibilities:- To create a welcoming environment that endorses a family-friendly approach to care.
- Communicate with parents regarding hearing screening and obtain parental consent.
- Carry out thorough newborn hearing screenings.
- Inform parents of screen outcomes as dictated by Local & National Hearing Screening Programme protocols.
- Accurately record clinical and test data and ensure timely transfer of information to the manager.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and individuality at all times while adhering to confidentiality of data.
- Be aware of child protection issues and adhere to local procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensure equipment safety and security and report any problems to the designated coordinator.
- Participate in sickness and annual leave rota as required.
- Work flexibly when necessary.
- Superb customer service skills.
- A proven track record of working effectively with people.
- Strong IT skills are essential for this role.
- A healthcare background is highly desirable.
