Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to fill a key position in our organization. As a Store and Grounds Person, you will be responsible for managing hotel supplies, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of outdoor areas, and performing various tasks related to gardening and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and check all deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality of goods.
  • Safely store and rotate stock following proper procedures (FIFO).
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or digital systems.
  • Liaise with department heads regarding stock levels and ordering needs.
  • Ensure storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in stock takes and audits as required.
  • Report any stock discrepancies or damaged goods promptly.
  • Maintain the hotel's gardens, lawns, car parks, bin yard, and walkways to a high standard.
  • Ensure the bin yard is clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and waste management standards.
  • Carry out regular inspections of outdoor areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling around the premises.
  • Assist with minor outdoor repairs and seasonal decorations (e.g., Christmas lights).
  • Support other departments with manual handling tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of gardening and basic maintenance tasks is necessary.
  • The ideal candidate should be physically fit and capable of manual handling.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • Good communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
  • Familiarity with health & safety practices in both storekeeping and grounds maintenance is essential.
  • A valid driver's license is advantageous.
