Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bed Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for scheduling, daily admissions, and coordination of bed management.

  • Schedule and coordinate bed allocations ensuring that patients receive safe and quality care.
  • Develop rapport with critical stakeholders and ensure that referral, admissions, and discharge processes are adhered to at all times.
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments of patient referrals either on site or via telephonic assessment as appropriate.
  • Allocate patients to the most appropriate ward/bed available to assure safe standards of nursing care.
  • Monitor bed occupancy and send regular reports to senior management.

  • Ensure that high standards of care are provided to residents/patients consistent with our organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
  • Recognize each resident/patient as an individual, prioritizing their rights, needs, and comfort during care provision.
  • Develop relationships with residents/patients facilitating their autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Promote and maintain resident/patient safety and provide quality care by respecting their privacy, dignity, and rights.
  • Delegate tasks and duties appropriately considering staff members' experience, competence, role, and scope of practice.

Requirements

  • A registered General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or entitlement to registration.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Benefits and Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Gerontology is desirable.
  • Management qualifications and gerontology experience are highly valued.
  • Experience in psycho-geriatric nursing care, psychiatry, or adult disabilities is advantageous.
