Job Overview

The Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate is recruiting for a Sales and Event Coordinator. The hotel is located on the banks of Lough Corrib on a 138-acre estate with an original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740s.

This position involves working in the reservations department and the meeting/event/wedding department based on business levels. The ideal candidate will have a warm, friendly personality and enjoy working with people.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to all incoming enquiries in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring queries and requests are addressed and followed up.
  • Organise show-arounds, client events, and trade shows if required.
  • Follow-up on leads and enquiries and take bookings for bedrooms, conferences, banquets, events, and weddings.
  • Ensure all reservations/event bookings are handled correctly in line with rate management and selling guidelines.
  • Provide information to customers on hotel facilities, services, and outlet opening times.
  • To represent the hotel at promotional shows and stands as required.
  • Be familiar with local tourist attractions, amenities, and activities and be able to assist customers with their requirements.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out according to company procedures and checklists are completed when required.
  • Maximise in-house sales opportunities and maintain awareness of all sales and up-selling opportunities.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with current special offers and promotions.
