Senior Commercial Manager Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven commercial leader to drive our sea freight pricing strategy, manage budgets, and build relationships with key stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our team in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Strategy: Promote and maintain competitive sea freight pricing policy in conjunction with the local commercial director and head office.
  • Financial Management: Manage approved commercial budget ensuring the commercial team is on track, identifying areas for improvement, and providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including existing customer portfolios and future key-account programs.
  • Performance Management: Manage local trade managers, guiding them with management of wider commercial teams, developing commercial teams to meet expectations, and reviewing performance reports.

Requirements:

  • 12 years commercial experience within container shipping or freight forwarding industries, with 3 years in senior commercial management position.
  • Familiar with CRM application and able to get best results.
  • Full clean EU driving license.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business-related discipline desirable.

Skills and Experience:

  • Global international experience within shipping industry, clients, and markets.
  • Successful negotiator when engaging with existing and prospective clients at senior level.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading commercial teams.
  • Creative in developing, promoting, and delivering improvement strategies within commercial teams.
  • Strong leadership and communications skills to guide, manage, and motivate commercial teams.
  • Outstanding geographical awareness.
  • Excellent mathematical ability and understanding of currency fluctuations.
  • First class organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong report-writing and presentation skills, with familiarity with popular software packages such as Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivation to use initiative and innovate when required.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
