Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, as well as implementing and maintaining effective environmental management systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing and administering procedures to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislative requirements and corporate Environmental and Health & Safety policy;
  • Assisting in the maintenance and development of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 as part of the Integrated Management System;
  • Conducting and reviewing risk assessments;
  • Coordinating, developing, and delivering training to staff in core H&E subjects;
  • Managing and developing site Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans;
  • Providing health and safety advice and support on site/client projects;
  • Investigating and formally recording and reporting accidents or incidents onsite or on client sites;
  • Preparing health and safety documentation required for site projects (PSDS/PSCS duties);
  • Ensuring contractor safety management arrangements are established and implemented;
  • Maintaining close liaison with facilities, technical, and administrative staff to ensure implementation of regulations pertaining to Health and Safety;
  • Working closely with senior managers and providing advice where necessary;
  • Maintaining systems of auditing in accordance with current Environmental and Health and Safety legislation and Corporate procedures;
  • Maintaining and administering HSEQ software systems around document control, auditing, incident reporting, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum level 7 degree or higher diploma in H&S;
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a customer service-driven environment;
  • Experience working with management systems i.e., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001;
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, with problem-solving skills, and be innovative;
  • Membership of IOSH (or working towards) or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft IT applications;
  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle;
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
