Job Title

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the set-up, installation, maintenance and support of automated equipment ensuring optimum performance and the achievement of operational goals.

  • Repairs and troubleshoots electro/mechanical equipment failures, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Schedules and performs preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and ensure production efficiency.
  • Assists in the movement, installation, setup, and refurbishment of equipment, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation, providing valuable insights into equipment performance.
  • Records significant downtime issues and resolutions in relevant databases, supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Collaborates with other departments as required to coordinate equipment repairs, fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Works proactively to ensure performance targets are met, focusing on yield, quality, production uptime, and process stability.
  • Communicates potential problems that may affect capacity and quality to the Business Unit Team Leader, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Attends pass-downs as required and provides status updates, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Provides detailed inputs into failed spare parts management processes, driving efficiency and cost savings.
  • Supports Process Engineers in implementing Continuous Improvements, driving innovation and excellence.
Requirements
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of equipment setup, operation, and maintenance, with a focus on specific manufacturing processes.
  • Possesses excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical ability, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to achieving manufacturing excellence, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • High level of flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.

  • Resourceful and hands-on, with a passion for solving complex problems.
Experience
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Technician in a high-volume automated environment.
  • Relevant certification, diploma, or senior trades in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, motor drives, pneumatic, and hydraulic components is an asset.
