
Support Worker for Vulnerable Children

Role Overview
This service supports children who have arrived in Ireland unaccompanied and are being cared for by Tusla, the Irish child welfare authority.
The primary objectives include:
- Critical Support Service: Deliver a child-centred, trauma-informed support service to unaccompanied minors seeking international protection in Ireland.
- Knowledge Exchange and Best Practice Sharing: Contribute to the work of all stakeholders in meeting Ireland's legal and other obligations and commitments.
- Service Provision Model Development: Develop a model of service provision that prioritizes the needs of vulnerable children.
- Decision-Making Support: Provide decision-makers with relevant information to inform their decisions about these children's cases.
Key responsibilities involve:
- Allocating a representative to each child within 3 weeks.
- Completing applications for international protection on behalf of the children.
- Ensuring access to legal advice for the children.
- Accompanying the children to relevant interviews and meetings related to their applications.
Delivering Results
This role requires an individual who can effectively deliver results in a challenging environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
