Support Worker Role Overview

The Support Worker role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on vulnerable individuals' lives.

This role operates in two locations: Loanhead and Dalkeith. In Loanhead, we support six people in five flats with diverse support needs. The supported people have good transport links via Lothian's bus numbers 37 & 47 and Borders bus X62.

Shifts in Loanhead are typically eight hours long, with one sleepover shift per day. In Dalkeith, we support five people in their own flats, with shifts usually lasting around eight or nine hours. There are also good bus transport links from Edinburgh on Lothian bus numbers 3 & 33, as well as East Coast Bus between Musselburgh and Dalkeith.

As a Support Worker, you will collaborate with colleagues to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships with our supported people. Your main responsibilities include communicating effectively with our supported people, supporting them throughout activities, providing positive feedback and encouragement, and updating accurate records using a tablet on the Arks Information Management system.
