About the Role

This is a hands-on technical position that will see you take ownership of complex and high-value motor damage claims, carrying out desktop assessments and field inspections where necessary. You will also act as the in-house technical expert for the function, supporting advisors with technical queries and ensuring quality outcomes for both the company and its customers.

  • Carrying out desktop assessments of vehicle damage claims.
  • Conducting field inspections and damage assessments when required.
  • Acting as a technical referral point for advisors on repair methodologies, pre-accident values, repairability vs. total loss decisions, and salvage matters.
  • Assisting in the development and technical training of the team.
  • Supporting the procurement and management of service providers, including repairers, salvage agents, hire companies, and engineers.
  • Reviewing and validating repair estimates and engineering reports to ensure fairness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Helping to build and refine procedures, technical guidelines, and assessment frameworks.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards, regulations, and obligations.
Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of repair methodologies, vehicle valuation, depreciation, and salvage processes.
  • Developing and implementing efficient workflows to minimize delays and costs.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to colleagues to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in motor claims or a related field.
  • Proven experience handling complex or high-value motor claims, including both high value repairs and total losses.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, it would be beneficial if you have:

  • A relevant technical qualification in Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Repair, or a similar field.
  • Experience working with or managing service providers.
  • Experience contributing to procedure development, audits, or quality control frameworks.
