We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support, and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 3,000 volunteers across the country. Our services have been recognized with Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator, and the Housing Regulatory Standard.

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Community Support Liaison. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fostering a supportive environment that enables volunteers to effectively contribute to the well-being of older individuals. You will work closely with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders to develop and implement programs that promote volunteer engagement and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the organization's services throughout the community.
  • Recruit, train, and reference-check volunteers.
  • Work with staff to ensure newly trained volunteers begin activities to support older persons within the specified timeframe.
  • Develop and implement programs promoting volunteer engagement and improvement.
  • Support and maintain good communications with volunteers.
  • Cultivate a positive atmosphere by recognizing volunteer efforts.
  • Assist with identifying local activities/events that both older persons and volunteers can participate in.

Requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and resolve problems is essential.
  • A full clean driver's license and access to a car is required.
  • Previous experience in recruitment, training, and engagement of staff or volunteers is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience of delivering presentations to large audiences.
  • Proficient in an IT-rich environment such as Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM.
