Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee day-to-day operations on civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods and materials, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing on-site teams, coordinating activities, and liaising with project managers, engineers, and clients. They will also be responsible for monitoring work quality, enforcing health and safety guidelines, and identifying and addressing any site issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Manage and supervise on-site teams, including tradespeople and subcontractors, ensuring work is carried out safely and to specifications.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate daily activities, liaising with project managers, engineers, and planners to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Quality Control: Monitor work quality and compliance with project requirements, standards, and regulations.
  • Health and Safety: Enforce health and safety guidelines, conduct risk assessments, and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Resource Allocation: Order and allocate materials, tools, and equipment as needed, and monitor usage.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a foreperson on civil engineering projects, preferably within Ireland or the UK.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods and materials, in-depth knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills with a collaborative approach to team management, ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Certifications: Full Irish driver's license.
