Community Mental Health Specialist

The Community Mental Health Team is seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team in Arklow. As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality social work interventions that support the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of patients.
Job Purpose:
The role involves working within a multidisciplinary adult mental health service, providing comprehensive social work services as part of a community-based care approach.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, and contribute to diagnostic and treatment planning.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to individuals, families, and groups.
- Engage in crisis intervention and management of acute and complex cases.
- Collaborate with external agencies and community supports.
- Promote social inclusion, recovery-based practice, and patient-centred care.
Requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Social Work and registration with CORU as a Professionally Qualified Social Worker.
- Minimum of 1 year's post-qualification experience in a mental health or related setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health issues and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week).
- Location: Arklow Primary Care Centre & Newcastle Hospital, Co. Wicklow.
