Job Description

This role involves leading the first line of defence in the Underwriting department, ensuring the right controls are in place on a day-to-day basis.

Working closely with Underwriting Managers, you will examine existing processes to reduce manual errors and ensure clarity in policies and procedures.

The product governance side of this role is key, involving monitoring product performance to ensure they remain suitable for customers. You will also oversee product enhancements and material changes from a governance perspective.

You will be responsible for sync'ing with risk and compliance departments to stay informed about regulatory changes and their impact on underwriting operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading governance initiatives to improve control and risk management
  • Collaborating with Underwriting Managers to optimize processes and reduce errors
  • Monitoring product performance and making recommendations for enhancements or changes
  • Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes and advising on implementation
