Job Role

The Senior Civil Engineer will oversee various projects, collaborating with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work on commercial, retail, hotel, residential, educational, and industrial projects
  • Conduct designs, inspections, and planning applications
  • Act as liaison between the design team and project stakeholders
  • Mentor junior staff members

Additional responsibilities include producing drainage/utility/service design, encompassing stormwater design, foul sewer systems, watermain design, bulk earthworks & levels, lines/signs, and traffic calming within residential developments – DMURS compliance.

Requirements
  • Effective communication skills, particularly translating designs into comprehensive drawings/information for construction
  • Experience in leading civil engineering site development design and construction projects, primarily involving residential projects ranging from 50 to 500 units
  • Knowledge of the Irish planning system, especially regarding civil design
  • Experience with sustainable urban drainage systems and general building drainage systems
  • Membership with Engineers' Ireland, aiming to achieve Chartered Engineers status
  • Ability to communicate effectively and prioritize/manage workload efficiently
  • Planning and control of technical resources to deliver projects on time
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant Technical Guidance Documents
  • Capacity to work independently and take responsibility for own work
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, along with attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communicator with fluent English
  • Possession of a full clean Irish driving license

Additional requirements include experience in compiling planning and construction reports, including infrastructure design reports, drainage impact assessments, construction and environmental management plans, operational waste management plans, flood risk assessment stage 1.
