Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all site-specific health and safety plans are effectively implemented and monitored. This includes maintaining detailed records of inspection results and implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Organise, attend, and chair safety meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment on safety practices.
- Offer ongoing health and safety training and support to staff and subcontractors.
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring appropriate follow-up and preventative measures.
- Work closely with site managers and maintenance teams to ensure all equipment is safe to operate.
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field, recognised by the relevant authorities.
- Previous experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor on residential developments.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Must have a full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
