Job Opportunity:

Our organization is seeking a diligent Health and Safety Specialist to oversee the safety of residential developments by implementing site-specific Health and Safety plans and monitoring their effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Organize and chair safety meetings to promote clear communication and alignment on safety practices among team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing Health and Safety training and support to staff and subcontractors, ensuring they are equipped to handle various scenarios.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement preventative measures to minimize risks.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry, preferably with a Main Contractor on residential developments.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car for frequent travel between sites.
