Large Energy User Connection Policy Analyst
3 weeks ago
The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) has published a proposed decision paper on the Large Energy Users connection policy. The aim is to create a pathway for new data centre customers to connect to the electricity grid while ensuring security of supply and meeting network constraints.
Ireland's renewable energy production targets have seen significant success, with various projects already underway. Data centres have invested in establishing operations in Ireland, providing employment opportunities and data services. However, recent years have witnessed a substantial increase in electricity demand growth driven by Large Energy Users, primarily due to data centre developments.
The CRU invited responses from interested parties until the end of Friday, 04 April 2025. Feedback from the proposed decision will inform a later decision publication in 2025.
- Promote renewable energy targets and reduce carbon emissions.
- Ensure the security of supply and meet network constraints.
- Establish a potential pathway for new data centre customers to connect to the electricity grid.
Job Description: To review and provide feedback on the proposed decision paper regarding the Large Energy Users connection policy.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Benefits: Opportunity to contribute to shaping Ireland's energy policy, working in a dynamic team environment, and professional development.
Others: This role requires a high level of autonomy, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
