Backend Software Developer

We are looking for an experienced backend software developer to join our team in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing distributed systems in a production setting.

This role involves working on building scalable, performant, and resilient backend systems that support critical business needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and designers to drive software quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs
  • Participate in system design and architecture reviews to influence technical direction
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in production environments
  • Author and review technical design documents, RFCs, and root cause analyses

You will be responsible for developing high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, designing and implementing software components, and ensuring that they are properly tested and deployed.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work well under pressure, and have a passion for engineering and innovation. In addition, you should have experience with Java and at least one other programming language, as well as knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns. You should also be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
