Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Maintenance technicians are responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of machinery and equipment in a food processing or manufacturing environment.

The key responsibilities of a maintenance technician include:

  • Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical faults to minimize downtime
  • Working closely with production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimum performance
  • Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and safety reviews
  • Adhering to health & safety procedures and regulations at all times
  • Responding promptly to breakdowns
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records

Requirements:

  • A trades qualification: Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification required
  • Additional mechanical or engineering certifications are a plus
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar maintenance role
  • Strong mechanical knowledge – ability to service and repair a wide range of machinery
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
