Credit Risk Manager Position

This role focuses on establishing a high-performing credit team for a FinTech business. The team's objective is to provide non-dilutive funding for growing SMEs.

The Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee end-to-end underwriting for SME facilities, from initial screening to final recommendation.
  • Develop and refine credit policies and guidelines: risk appetite, sector-specific requirements, concentration limits, collateral frameworks.
  • Drive decision-making processes to minimize loss outcomes; promote data-driven decisions.
  • Design and implement underwriting models, cohort/PD views, vintage analysis; collaborate with data/operations teams to automate scoring and dashboard development.
  • Assess portfolio health: early warning indicators, remediation plans; maintain efficient decision-making processes.
  • Mentor junior analysts and participate in committee presentations as you progress.
Requirements:
  • Promotions or career progression based on achievements and performance metrics.
  • Strong academic background: degree, postgraduate studies, MBA, or professional certifications.
  • Experience in underwriting, specifically in SME lending, ABL, invoice finance, or alt-lending.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills; confidence when interacting with credit committees and senior stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the Fintech or high-growth lender sectors.
  • Development of MI/credit dashboards or implementation of workflow/decisioning tools.
  • Experience working with PE-backed or e-commerce/recurring-revenue SMEs.
