The Role

Due to continued growth and development, Finglas Credit Union is currently inviting applications for the position of Member Services Officer. We are seeking both entry-level and experienced candidates who are passionate about member service and are keen to build a career in a financial services environment. This role will be based in either our main office in Finglas village or our sub-office in Charlestown Shopping Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background or qualification in business or financial services who are looking to utilise and further develop their skills within a community-focused organisation.

Role Summary

The Member Services Officer will play a key role in delivering a best-in-class member experience in both frontline and back-office environments. Responsibilities include processing financial transactions (e.g. lodgements, withdrawals, loan payments), handling queries, supporting members, and promoting the credit union’s wide range of financial services and products.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver a superior level of service to members in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
- Carry out daily member transactions, including account openings, loan processing, insurance services, and general enquiries.
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, including Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Data Protection legislation.
- Support the promotion of Finglas Credit Union’s products and services that offer value to our members.
- Accurately maintain member records and handle cash transactions diligently.
- Contribute to a positive team environment, promoting the Credit Union’s values and high-performance culture.
- Providing cover as required between our main and Charlestown offices.

Requirements

- A member-focused approach with a strong track record of excellent customer service.
- Ideally, 3 years’ experience in a financial, regulated, or customer-facing role.
- A professional qualification such as QFA, CUA, or APA is desirable. Candidates without a qualification must complete two QFA modules within 2 years of employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and good keyboard/data entry skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and numerical skills.
- A proactive problem-solver with attention to detail and the ability to work on own initiative.
- Adaptable and flexible in approach, with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
