Job Role: HSE Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Officer to join our organization. This is a full-time permanent position that offers a long-term career with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide health, safety, and environmental advice and support to managers, supervisors, and colleagues across the entire workforce, subcontracted labor, other site workers, and members of the public.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all levels of employees to promote a culture of engagement, continual improvement, and employee well-being.
  • Create and maintain safe systems of work (RAMS etc.) and ensure these are effectively applied, driving ongoing improvement.
  • Conduct and maintain health, safety, and environment site, workshop, and equipment inspections and records.
  • Investigate incidents, identify, and implement improvement measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Stay informed about the functions of other department staff as they affect your work.
  • Attend necessary meetings as required.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a professional and efficient manner, complying with current HSE legislation, regulatory requirements, and the company's Integrated Management System.
  • Communicate professionally, helpfully, and impartially with clients and customers, representing the department and the organization.
  • Behave professionally and cooperate with all other staff members.
  • Deliver regular toolbox and induction talks to promote health, safety, and environmental awareness.

Requirements:

  • Hold a NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Have at least 5 years of proven experience in HSE roles.
  • Experience working in new build and M&E construction environments or similar sectors.
  • Proficiency in undertaking health and safety audits.
  • Knowledge of lifting operations and associated hazards.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Chartered membership of IOSH or working towards it.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or working towards it.
