Director of Highways and Active Travel

As a key leader, you will oversee the delivery of comprehensive design and project management solutions for highways and active travel schemes. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading cross-functional teams in design and project management
  • Managing project portfolios and client relationships
  • Mentoring junior Project Managers
  • Supervising and guiding team members
  • Planning and overseeing design work
  • Preparing technical reports and tender documentation
  • Coordinating with project and infrastructure teams

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in highways, greenway, and active travel schemes
  • Experience in delivering design and build projects desirable
  • Proven track record in managing teams
  • Strong experience in client liaison and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project budgets
