**Job Description**

Principal Project Manager - Highways and Active Travel

We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead the delivery of highways and active travel projects.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Supervise and mentor senior and junior staff in the Sustainable Infrastructure sector.
  • Prepare technical reports and tender documents.
  • Plan and manage design work, working closely with Engineering Discipline Leads and Technicians.
  • E nsure compliance with our quality assurance and management systems and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Coordinate work with other members of the project and Sustainable Infrastructure team.
  • Manage client relationships and communications for projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with Chartered Engineer status.
  • 12 years post-graduate experience in the design and project management of highways, greenway, and infrastructure schemes.
  • Delivery of highway or greenway projects in accordance with TII Project Management Guidelines Phases 0 to 7.
  • Experience in the delivery of design and build projects.
  • Multi-disciplinary design management experience.
  • Experience engaging with clients, external stakeholders, and subconsultants.
  • Experience in creating and managing budgets.
  • Candidate should be a high-energy professional with excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Flexible and a good team player.
  • Works efficiently and on own initiative.
  • Must be prepared to travel to site visits and client meetings.
