Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dynamic allied health team. The successful applicant will partner with people with disability and their families/stakeholders to enable them to live the life they choose.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments to identify underlying causes of challenging behaviours.
  • Develop and implement individualised, person-centred positive behaviour support plans that promote independence and community inclusion.
  • Provide services to clients that teach and encourage appropriate behaviours, reducing the need for restrictive practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to upskill others in the person's life, promoting a culture of positive support.
Required Skills and Attributes:
  • Provisional registration as a BSP is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience working with people with a disability in the context of positive behaviour support.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain both an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check.
