Executive Chef Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Executive Chef to join our growing team in our Fine Dining restaurant. Kilkea Castle is a 140-bedroom resort set on 180 acres of landscape, gardens and ancient woodland.

This family-owned and managed estate offers a tranquil spa, a challenging 18-hole championship golf course and a world-class culinary experience. We are Great Place to Work 2024 certified and Georgina Campbells Four-Star Hotel of the Year 2024.

The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the hotel's kitchen to include hiring, training and overseeing kitchen staff, and ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective product. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations
  • Oversee inventory, ordering and waste management
  • Collaborate with front-of-house and other departments
  • Recruit, train and motivate kitchen staff
  • Design and execute seasonal menus
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations
Requirements

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Cook
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of food costing and menu planning
  • Able to keep up to date with industry trends
  • Minimum 12 months valid work permit required
