Job Overview

A key role for a skilled professional as a Data Science Leader, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop impactful analytics solutions. This involves close partnership with stakeholders to define the analytics direction and deliver on strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead analytical activities to inform business decision-making, focusing on high-impact areas such as UnitedHealthcare Pharmacy.
  • Collaborate with various business units to understand their analytic needs, propose and deliver tailored solutions, and drive change initiatives.
  • Solve complex problems requiring strong domain expertise and statistical acumen.
  • Provide technical guidance across the department, supporting teams with data science challenges, and contributing to code reviews where necessary.
  • Design and implement scalable data solutions for core business functions.
  • Anticipate customer needs, proactively develop and deliver solutions, and forecast the impact of business strategies.
  • Analyse diverse and complex data, communicating findings to influence business direction.
  • Leverage a range of analytical approaches, including predictive analytics, issue detection, trend analysis, and data visualisation, to address business priorities effectively.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Degree qualified in a relevant field (analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance) or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in data analytics or data science, preferably with experience working with financial or healthcare-related data.
  • Familiarity with working with messy data and imputation techniques.
  • Strong ability to research, interpret, and analyse diverse and complex data.
  • Extensive data manipulation skills across structured and unstructured sources/repositories.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language such as R or Python.
  • Demonstrated effective project ownership, management, drive, and delivery.
  • Stakeholder management experience, dealing with multiple stakeholders, and forming effective partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to strategically consult with the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and orally to individuals and groups.
