Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee environmental, health and safety on large construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of current legislation and regulations in the industry.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing EHS issues on site, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working patterns.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to project and company EHS management systems
  • Coordinate development of task-specific method statements, risk assessments, and safe plans of action
  • Ensure compliance with project execution plans and coordination of project safety indicators
  • Manage good safety practices and ongoing COSHH assessments
  • Carry out regular site audits and inspections, documenting results and following up on corrective actions
  • Maintain records of statutory inspections and ensure Mercury Engineering induction and training is coordinated, managed, and maintained
  • Assist or carry out accident investigation reports in a timely manner and ensure communication to project management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in managing EHS on large construction sites
  • Experience working in pharma, data centers, and retail industries
  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health, and safety legislation
  • Flexibility in working patterns where necessary
  • Ability to efficiently manage all EHS issues on site
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
