Job Title: Duty Manager

We are seeking a seasoned hotel duty manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant and food service management.

  • This is a leadership role that requires the ability to manage teams of up to 40 people on busy shifts.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel while on duty, including managing stock levels, conducting weekly stock takes, and ensuring excellent service is provided to all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the hotel's management team on day-to-day operations.
  • Duty Management Shifts - responsible for all aspects of the hotel while on duty.
  • Management of a team of up to 40 people on busy shifts.
  • Having a hands-on approach while on duty in areas where assistance is needed.
  • Working closely with the teams within the Restaurant/food service departments of the hotel.
  • Having a hands-on role within the food service departments.
  • Weekly stock takes.
  • Staff training and development.
  • Driving sales initiatives for the property - in conjunction with the hotels in-house sales team.
  • Ensuring excellent service is provided to all guests/visitors to the property.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within busy 3*/4* hotels.
  • A strong knowledge of the Restaurant/food service industry and new initiatives/innovations taking place within the industry.
  • HACCP trained.
  • The ability to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the hotel.
  • Previous experience working with hotel front office systems is beneficial.
  • Must have previous experience working within the areas of food & beverage and conference & banqueting and events.
  • A current First Aid Certificate would be desirable but is not essential.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Available to work early/late shifts.
  • Fluent in English language both written and spoken.
