Occupational Therapist in Mental Health

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Mental Health Team in Dublin 6.

This is a unique opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to work in a supportive team environment and gain valuable experience in mental health.

The Adult Occupational Therapy Service provides services to various clinical areas including community mental health teams, community rehabilitation teams, and approved centres.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing treatment programs for service users. You will manage your caseload, collaborate with service users and other staff, and document all assessments and progress notes.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and review treatment programs for service users
  • Manage own caseload in accordance with needs of the post
  • Collaborate with service users, family, carers, and other staff in treatment planning
  • Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and discharge summaries
About the Role

This is a full-time, 6-month agency contract with a high probability of conversion to a HSE contract. The successful candidate will have a BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy, CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist, and excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve optimal outcomes for service users through assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment programs
  • Manage caseload effectively to meet the needs of the role
  • Maintain effective working relationships with service users, family, carers, and other staff
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and discharge summaries

Essential Requirements:
BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
