Infrastructure Specialist

This is a hands-on technical role centered around the maintenance and deployment of data center, server, and network hardware infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Operations: Focus on addressing server, network hardware, and infrastructure issues as they arise, ensuring smooth data center operations with minimal downtime.
  • Infrastructure Builds: Participate in the deployment of large-scale infrastructure projects, often with tight timelines and high expectations for quality and efficiency.
  • Cable Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve connectivity problems related to copper or fiber cabling, ensuring fast and efficient repairs that meet the highest standards.
  • Technical Communication: Deliver clear and professional technical information, particularly in configuring and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Customer Support: Utilize internal ticketing systems to efficiently manage and resolve technical issues, while providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Hardware Repairs: Identify and troubleshoot server hardware issues, including component replacements for malfunctioning parts, to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Equipment Management: Handle the receiving, tracking, and deployment of server and network hardware equipment, maintaining accurate records and inventory levels.
  • Spare Parts Control: Monitor and manage on-site spare parts inventory to ensure availability and organization, minimizing downtime due to part shortages.
  • Installation & Racking: Perform racking, cabling, and installation of both server and network infrastructure, coordinating additional services as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Process Improvement: Follow established processes to enhance system stability and performance, update documentation such as port maps, rack layouts, and asset records using DCIM and power management tools, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures within the data center environment, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Solution Implementation: Deploy infrastructure solutions that support the company's growth while mitigating risks and maintaining scalability, aligning with business objectives and strategies.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work collaboratively across different teams and departments to align infrastructure with broader business objectives, fostering open communication and teamwork.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and physical part replacements for servers and network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and preventing costly failures.
  • Travel: Potential for travel to other data center locations to assist with additional projects as necessary, supporting business growth and expansion.
