**Job Title:** Maintenance Technician
**Role Summary:** We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing proactive maintenance support across the site, installing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintaining plant equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Provide planned and reactive maintenance support across the site.
- Install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment.
- Carry out basic programming and diagnostics of plant machinery.
- Troubleshoot using PLC programs.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs to minimise downtime and maximise uptime.
- Support technical needs for plant facilities, including compressed air and refrigeration systems.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
- Assist with risk assessments and ensure H&S training is delivered to the team.
- Monitor and improve machine/line performance to increase efficiency.
- Work closely with equipment suppliers on new installations and modifications.
- Provide overtime, shift cover, phone support and callouts as required.
- Oversee contractors working on site.
- Support maintenance across process, HVAC, refrigeration and packaging equipment.
- Analyse downtime levels and implement strategies to improve uptime.
- Keep the Engineering Manager and area managers informed of significant developments.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A relevant third-level qualification in Engineering OR time-served Electrician (essential).
- 3+ years' experience in a maintenance role (planned & reactive).
- Mechanical qualification/experience is advantageous.
- Experience with motor control systems, process temperature controls and pneumatics.
- Experience using a CMMS (computerised maintenance management system).
- Knowledge of safety systems: Lockout-Tagout, risk assessment, permit to work.
- Working knowledge of Food Safety standards (BRC & ISO).
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work on-call when required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with PLC/PC control systems.
**Benefits:
- Weekly rotating shifts: Days (06:00–14:30) / Evenings (14:30–23:30).
- 10% shift allowance for evening shifts.
- On-call support required as part of the role.
