Business Lines New Business Underwriter

This is a key role in our organization, requiring a skilled professional to underwrite and analyse new business submissions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating terms and conditions with broker partners, managing the new business pipeline, and engaging with stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting: Analyse new business submissions in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to risk appetite and delegated authority levels.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with broker partners in line with agreed strategy and target risk appetite, while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Pipeline Management: Proactively manage and prioritise the new business pipeline, working closely with Sales and Distribution teams to ensure timely delivery of results.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with Sales, Risk Engineering, and broker partners to identify and secure new business opportunities.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of underwriting principles and practices is essential, along with experience in negotiation and relationship building.
