Role/ Department
The Investor AML Operations team supports Guernsey clients, requiring completion of a workload with guidance from colleagues and line management to support all aspects of AML in line with:
- AML Legislation/Regulation & Guidance/Best Practice.
- The Investor AML Department's processes and procedures.
In addition, partners must hold, build, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to deliver a robust AML service to our client and investor base.
The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
- Organise the work of the team, assign tasks, set short-term priorities, monitor all activities, and ensure timely and accurate completion of the work.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to Anti Money Laundering requirements for investors.
- Review procedural requirements and recommend appropriate procedural changes where applicable.
- Develop training material and lead training within the department, including new hires.
- Serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other employees.
- Conduct performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions.
- Resolve problems, identify the most appropriate solution, and establish new techniques to ensure the team meets its objectives.
- Have direct impact on the quality of tasks performed or services provided by the team.
- Participate in AML operations quality control review of investor documentation for investors, ensuring adherence to Northern Trust's AML policy and procedures.
- Work with colleagues and line management to review investor documentation and efficiently source outstanding due diligence documentation, if any.
- Be aware of adverse media on investor accounts and assess high-risk factors linked to accounts, such as PEP involvement.
- Escalate and assist with the resolution of more complex problems and critical issues referred to the Investor AML Operations team.
- Ensure efficient and professional handling of queries from internal and external parties, with support from line management where required.
- Work with line management to ensure the Investor AML team meets audit, risk, and compliance standards as determined.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of AML regulation and best practice to promote enhancements to Northern Trust's AML processes and procedures.
- Perform additional work where volume or absence requires such workload to be completed across AML Operations.
