Family Support Specialist Needed
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As part of an interdisciplinary service, you will work closely with families to provide expert support and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality family-centered services to children with disabilities and their families.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored interventions to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
- Offer support in areas such as coping strategies, advocacy, safeguarding, emotional wellbeing, and service navigation.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to team planning, clinical meetings, and case coordination.
- Supervise and support junior colleagues, contributing to service development and growth.
Requirements:
- A recognized qualification in Social Work and current registration with CORU.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, with relevant experience in disability, child and family services, or medical social work.
- Excellent clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Full clean driver's license and access to own transport may be required.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working within an interdisciplinary service.
- Experience working with children with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., autism, intellectual disability).
- Training in relevant therapeutic approaches is an advantage.
