Job Title: Adventure Operations Director
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned and accomplished professional to lead our Adventure Department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in outdoor activities, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient systems and strategies to ensure seamless department operations.
- Manage the recruitment, training, and development of the Adventure team.
- Oversee and deliver training standards while maintaining qualifications in specialist activity areas.
- Plan and oversee outdoor activity programmes for guests.
- Ensure all safety regulations, risk assessments, equipment checks, and incident records are maintained.
- Monitor weather and environmental conditions to ensure guest and staff safety.
- Maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders such as Failte Ireland and ATTA.
Requirements:
- Qualifications and experience in a variety of outdoor activities, with at least two relevant instructorships (e.g. RCI, CWI, ERCA).
- Up-to-date First Aid certification.
- Previous management experience in a similar adventure/outdoor role.
- Desirable: Third-level qualification in business management, outdoor education, leadership, recreation, or sports-related discipline.
- Hospitality or adventure industry experience.
